What is Hoarder?
Hoarder, now called Karakeep, is an open-source bookmark and personal knowledge-management app for saving links, notes, images, and PDFs. It fetches titles, descriptions, and images for saved links, then uses AI to automatically tag and summarize content so collections retain useful context as they grow. The product is designed for people who collect a large amount of information and want a more organized way to retrieve it later.
You can capture material through the web app, browser extensions, and mobile apps, then find it with full-text, keyword, hybrid, or semantic search. Karakeep also includes a distraction-free reader, highlighting, automation rules, RSS feeds, collaborative lists, and API, CLI, and MCP server access for scripts and AI assistants. It can suit personal knowledge management, research collections, and shared reading or curation workflows.
