What this offer includes
Copilot Free is an ongoing free plan for individual developers, with limited completions, Chat and Agent usage. Reaching the allowance prompts a reset wait or manual upgrade, not an automatic charge.
How to use it
Sign in to GitHub and open Copilot through VS Code, Visual Studio, GitHub.com or GitHub Mobile. Some other IDEs require enabling the service in GitHub account settings first.
Limits and billing
Accounts with a paid individual plan, an organization-assigned seat or a student plan may not see Copilot Free. Exact allowances and reset dates should be checked in the account.
