What is Calicat?

Calicat is an integrated product, design, and engineering workspace aimed at product managers, interaction designers, product designers, and developers who need prototypes, requirements, and tasks in one environment. Its AI assistant can generate a full-page prototype or a smaller component from natural-language instructions, and it can work from web designs, layers, screenshots, hand-drawn drafts, or wireframes. Generated work remains editable on the canvas and can be refined with automatic layout, reusable components, icons, and image resources.

Requirement cards can be linked directly to canvas prototypes and converted into team tasks through properties such as ownership and priority, reducing the separation between design decisions and implementation work. The browser-based editor supports real-time co-creation, synchronized custom components, Axure imports, and document import or export across the formats listed by Calicat. Capturing an existing web design requires the Calicat browser extension, Axure migration requires an importable file, and live collaboration requires members to work in the same online file or shared space.

Key features of Calicat

  • Multi-input prototyping

The AI generates complete pages or smaller components from natural language and can interpret screenshots, sketches, and wireframes as editable prototype references.

  • Web design capture

The browser extension captures design information from an existing webpage, after which the AI can modify its structure and visual direction into a new page prototype.

  • Linked requirements and prototypes

Requirement cards link to canvas prototypes and become task cards through ownership and priority settings, giving product, design, and engineering a shared context.

  • Browser-based co-editing

Multiple members can edit the same browser-based file in real time, master-component changes propagate to child components, and built-in resources support consistent layouts.
