Proofig is a scientific-image integrity platform designed for researchers, research institutions, publishers, and ethics committees that screen figures before or during manuscript review. Its AI and computer-vision tools look for cloning, deletion, splicing, and other alterations within a sub-image, compare duplication or reuse across a manuscript, and identify AI-generated content in supported scientific image classes. It can also compare manuscript visuals with published literature and with a researcher’s private repository of earlier work to investigate plagiarism or self-reuse.
The workflow begins when one or several manuscripts are uploaded; Proofig extracts and analyzes their figures, gathers suspected issues in a review interface with forensic tools, and exports the findings as a PDF report. Analysis can cover images, graphs, charts, diagrams, and plots, including reused material that has been scaled, rotated, flipped, or only partially overlapped. The resulting flags support pre-submission quality control and editorial screening, but they are not an independent misconduct verdict, so an experienced reviewer must verify and interpret each finding.
